huntington beach.

some great friends who are residents of huntington beach wanted some photos of their city to hang in their house on the beach. we got them printed on large canvas' and from what i hear, they turned out great. it was a fun project for me and pulling these out of the archives from last summer reminded me of how great it is to live there. i sure do miss having the beach 3 blocks from home. see the rest here.

back to the grind.

yesterday, i was here.... today i am not. all i can think about is why i got on the plane to come home.... clearly a poor choice on my part. back to classes, portfolio revisions, and frigid temperatures. sigh. until next time california...

jen and i went to "the wedge" in newport beach on monday. it is so beautiful there and the houses are amazing. i can't believe people actually live there. pretty cool. the rest of her stay was fantastic. shopping, ferris wheel rides, balboa bars, sprinkles cupcakes, church, beach, bike rides, ruby's... i'm only writing these things to entice others to come visit. time is running out people...

the most exciting thing to happen in the past while is JENNI'S visit to huntington beach. when she told me her plane ticket was purchased, i could barely contain my excitement. honestly, this past weekend could not have been better. i picked her up from the airport and we headed to the LA temple and to the santa monica pier, and as you can see jenni danced with random strangers. of course.

fourth of july huntington beach style was CRAZY. i've never seen so many people, so many streets shut down, and so many bikes. the parade was amazing with so many people and a lot of energy. i watched it from a rooftop and wore a lady liberty hat with some awesome patriotic sunglasses (thanks em and suz). after the parade, we rode our bikes to the beach and stayed for a couple hours. i don't have any pictures from the bbq and fireworks... i need to get them from everyone. maybe i'll add them later. anyways, it was such a fun day and i finally have an official sunburn.

emily is my new photography friend here in HB. we rode our bikes to the beach last week and shot these. it was fun to trade lenses and see what else is out there. the hardest thing about photography is approaching people for advice, so it's nice to have someone to ask technical questions and not feel stupid! her blog here.

here.

i've spent a lot of time here lately... riding my bike down the boardwalk, reading, running, writing, talking on the phone to far away places like utah and new york, remembering life in hawaii, soaking up the rays, and roasting hot dogs over a fire. i even went surfing! my roommates were kind enough to (try) and teach me. i love the beach, and even though i'm working during the prime hours of the day, i've managed to get a little tan... it's a work in progress.

arrived.

my newest adventure has brought me to huntington beach, california... i'll be here for the summer interning for a photographer here. hopefully the skills displayed on this blog will drastically increase. we'll see about that. as for now, i'm loving the 1 minute walk from my front door to the beach. come visit friends!
